It's a wipe-out!

7. It will now be seven weeks since Gillford played a competitive match, if next Saturday's match at home to Heaton Stannington gets the go ahead, after tomorrow's away game at Alnwick Town was postponed due to the weather.

Our last competitive match was a one-one draw at home to Seaton Delaval on December 8. On Monday, a Gillford squad travelled to the Gretna Academy of Excellence at Newton Rigg, Penrith, and defeated the SPL Under-19s side 3-0. All the goals coming in the second half courtesy Lee Otway.

I am told we are now attempting to arrange another mid-week bounce match, with a trip to Northern League outfit Penrith Town on Tuesday or Wednesday in the frame.

The two Cumberland County Representative matches which were due to be held at Gillford Park tomorrow have also been cancelled, after a downpour drenched the city over the past couple of days.
