Secretary Mike Linden has sadly had to report yet more criminal damage to the police, after vandals were in action again at Gillford Park last night. The stadium and adjoining Railway Club have been the victims of numerous break-ins, attempted breaks-ins and serious damage. After speaking to local councillor June Martlew regarding access to funding to have CCTV cameras fitted, our case has been passed on to Martyn Park, the Police Problem Solver for Carlisle South, who may be able to get some funding through the Crime & Disorder Partnership. In an email to Mike, Mrs Martlew said, "Its such a shame when things are going so well for you all," while Mike himself said he hoped we would "be able to catch these criminals and stop them from spoiling things for the rest of the local community" On a lighter note, reports that Northbank's Brian Hall and John Twentyman were seen fleeing up Petterill Bank Road wearing balaclavas are unconfirmed.
