Seaton Delaval Preview

Gillford Park travel to Seaton Delaval hoping to take three points from their first game in five weeks. Speaking to the local press, manager Jimmy McMurdo said he did not believe the long layoff would affect his troops’ performance.

He added: “The lads are all fit anyway and they’ve been out training and playing football.”

Top scorer Lee Otway will return to the fray having served a seven day suspension during the club’s long layoff. Otway picked up the penalty in his first game back from a separate 21 day suspension.

McMurdo said: “It’s a massive boost to have Lee back; he is the top scorer and is an important member of the team.”

Ex-Carlisle United and Queen of the South midfielder Steve Skinner, whose penalty was expertly saved in the sides’ last meeting, will not turn out for Lancaster City and he, too, is expected to be fielded by The Park.

However, the club will find out on the day whether experienced midfielder Gary Milne will be available, after Milne made a return to the Penrith Town squad in recent weeks.

Seaton Delaval have one of the better grounds in the Northern Alliance, with a bar and changing rooms accommodated in the clubhouse, which also has a small piece of terraced cover.

A programme will be issued, and both the team bus and the supporters minibus will leave from the ground at 10.45 am. All supporters are invited to travel to cheer on the Park.
