The starting line up showed 4 changes to the team that had beaten Northbank by 4-0 midweek, and as the game started it looked as though the result may differ as well as the home team putting Gillfords defence under some early pressure, but old head Noctor held the defensive line well. Once Gillford had settled they started to play some entertaining football and in the fifteenth minute took a deserved lead when, after some neat build up play between Johnston, Skinner and Otway, young Dan Rayson finished it off with a delightful chip over the keeper from twenty-five yards.
The second half was much the same with the
home team struggling to get past the back 4, As hard as they tried Ponteland, managed by ex-Queen of the South player Jarrod Suddick, couldn't breakdown the visitors and with Skinner pulling the strings in midfield they found it hard going, with the scores staying the same at full time.
